The Only Gem Hawaii $10 Star Graded by Either Service
Fr. 2303* $10 1934A Hawaii Federal Reserve Note. PCGS Gem New 65.PCGS has graded only one example higher than Choice New 63PPQ, and this is it. The colors and print quality are those of a note pulled from the pack this morning, and the embossing is visible right through the holder, making this cataloguer wonder why this example was not assigned the PPQ designation. With PMG having graded only one specimen higher than 55 (a 63 as well), this offering represents the only opportunity collectors might have for many years to obtain a Gem Uncirculated example of this desirable star. We have sold the sole PCGS Choice 63 example twice, once raw in the Taylor Family collection sale for $10,925 and again last year, where it realized $18,800.
