China Chinese American Bank of Commerce 5 Dollars 15.7.1920 Pick S236b S/M#C271-3 PMG Choice Fine 15.
This interesting lot is one of only a few of this type extant. The Chinese American Bank of Commerce was a 50/50 joint venture between Chinese and American investors. The bank did not last long, as investors sold off their stock within 10 years of operations. The Statue of Liberty is engraved on the front and the Chinese Flag on the back. This is a rare note in any grade from a short-lived bank.
