Spain Banco de Espana 500 Pesetas 1.1.1884 Pick 27s Specimen
PMG Uncirculated 62.An absolutely stunning design, and a key, higher denomination of this 1884 series. Only a few examples are known to exist in all forms, which makes this design seldom available. Red overprints, four hole-punched cancellations, and a minor repair are noted for accuracy. Otherwise, this Specimen exhibits fresh paper and vivid colors. 19th-century Spanish issues, regardless of date or format, are quite desirable, but this design is atop the list of desired types for the country. We have only offered this type once previously, and a mere four examples have sold publicly within the last 10 years. An important offering.
