Description
Spain Banco de Espana 50 Pesetas 1.6.1889 Pick 40 PMG Extremely Fine 40.During the latter decades of the 19th century, banknote production was shared between the Bank of Spain's in house print manufacturers as well as outside sources. This issue was printed locally, and is significantly different from those printed in the United States or England. Notice the uneven edge at right, vertical striping, and intricate but monotone schemes. This pretty banknote was spared extensive circulation, adding desirability to already rare type. This example is only the third we have offered.
