1.6.1927 Pick 76a PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.The Banco de Angola's series of banknotes dated 1927 are among the most famous of all African colonial notes. The intricate designs are fantastically beautiful, and none more so than this offering. The 500 Angolares was the highest denomination of the series and it is virtually unseen in issued or Specimen formats. Additionally, this example features the first serial number for the "1C" prefix. PMG mentions that the note has been retouched, but the overall eye appeal is excellent for the technical grade. An iconic type note.
