Description

Russia State Bank Notes 1 Chervonetz 1922 Pick 139s Specimen PMG Very Fine 30.
A rare Specimen example of a cleanly designed note introduced as one of the first currency reforms in the young Soviet Union. While circulating Rubles issued by the old Imperial government and individual Soviets were devalued, the Chervonetz was introduced by the Russian Soviet as a type of hard currency, exchangeable for gold, intended to strengthen the domestic economy. PMG notes some minor repairs.
