Description
Incredibly Rare £10 of 1961 with Richards Signature
Rhodesia and Nyasaland Bank of Rhodesia and Nyasaland 10
Pounds 1.2.1961 Pick 23b PMG About Uncirculated 55 EPQ.Rhodesia & Nyasaland's highest denomination banknote is the iconic £10, virtually identical to the previous variety issued by the Currency Board in Southern Rhodesia. For this variety issued by the Bank of Rhodesia and Nyasaland, prefix Z/1 was used for all dates from 1956 through June 3rd, 1960. Then, prefix Z/2 was used for dates June 17th, 1960, and February 1st, 1961. However, what is even more impactful is that this offering, featuring the final date for the type, is the ONLY date to feature the signature of B.C.J. Richards. At the time of cataloging, this is the first and only example graded in the PMG Population Report. Additionally, this example is barely circulated, with just the traces of use atop completely original paper. EPQ status is the crowning feature of this exceptional banknote. Frankly, this is one of the rarest and perhaps most unknown of all Queen Elizabeth II banknotes. Do not miss the opportunity to acquire this remarkable discovery note.
