Description

Highest Denomination 20 Balboas Specimen

Panama Banco Central de Emision 20 Balboas 1941 Pick 25s Specimen PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.
Panama's 20 Balboas was the highest denomination of the famous 1941 series, which was issued for only seven days during a political coup. Issuance was suspended by the victors of the coup, with issued notes hastily withdrawn and all redeemed and unissued notes destroyed. The 20 Balboas is the rarest denomination of the series, with PMG has grading only 17 issued notes and 11 Specimen at the time of writing. This Specimen, printed by the Hamilton Bank Note Company, was tastefully punch hole cancelled preserving complete visibility of all printed elements. Very rare in any format, in any grade. Not to be missed, especially in Gem Uncirculated grade.
From The Albert Field Hamilton Bank Note Co Collection

Estimate: $15,000 - up.
