Description
Highest Graded 1873 Tokyo Branch 2 Yen
Japan Greater Japan Imperial National Bank, Tokyo #15 2 Yen
ND (1873) Pick 11 JNDA 11-13 PMG Very Fine 30 Net.One of the finest surviving examples of the 2 yen from the first National Bank issue. This Tokyo Branch #15 shares the highest grade for this denomination in the PMG Population Report. Although a rust spot and insect holes are present, the overall quality of this banknote is outstanding. Bright paper and deep inks are seen throughout and the original details of the dual vignettes of legendary warriors Kojima Takanori and Nitta Yoshisada are exceptional. Both an artistic and historical piece, this visually appealing banknote will standout in any collection.
