Japan Greater Japan Imperial National Bank, Echigo Nagaoka #69 5 Yen ND (1878) Pick 21 JNDA 11-15 PMG Very Fine 30.A handsome example of this rare denomination, which is seldom encountered in any grade. It appears that no finer graded example has crossed the auction block in the past decade. Original paper is noted, and two insect holes prevent EPQ status on this otherwise terrific example. Very rare in this elite grade. Issued from the Echigo Nagaoka branch.
