French Sudan Gouvernment General de l'Afrique Occidentale Francaise 0.50 Franc 11.2.1917 Pick A1b PMG About Uncirculated 53.A delightful and rare colonial issue is offered here. French Sudan was the colonial name for present-day Mali. This small change note was issued there to alleviate a shortage of coinage during World War I. We have offered this note only once previously. Rare in any grade, this Pick number is missing from many relevant collections. Pinholes are mentioned for accuracy on this example that is seen with the laurel leaves watermark.
