Description

Curacao S.E.L. Maduro and Sons 50 Centen 1893 Pick UNL PMG Very Good 10.
A lack of paper notes and coinage in Curacao in the late 19th-century lead to locally printed coupon notes and company issues, such as this offering. Maduro & Sons is a famed shipping company founded in 1837 and remains to this day. This well-circulated, but nevertheless decent, small change note is rarely seen today, as most were readily accepted into circulation and used until unfit for duty. Splits, edge roughness, and a faded signature panel are mentioned for accuracy. An important type for Curacao.

PMG Very Good 10。
