Curacao Curacaosche Bank 50 Gulden 1855 Pick A14 PLNA3.4 PMG Fine 12.
An incredible and very rare highest denomination of the third series of banknotes issued in Curacao is offered here. At the time of cataloging, just two examples are graded in the PMG Population Report. A mere 2,000 notes of this denomination were printed and issued. Banknotes of this series were printed by Neuman & Muller and feature the signature of Christoffel Gorsira and two merchants. Importantly, these banknotes were payable in specie. The notation seen on the back is as to be expected. This offering represents one of the rarest and most impressive of all Caribbean banknotes.
