The 1960 date is the final date of issue for Curacao banknotes. The Bank of the Netherlands Antilles took over issuing responsibilities in 1962, which cut short the issuance of the 1960 dated notes of the Curacao Bank. Print totals for this 25 Gulden are perhaps as many as 50,000 notes, but it is possible that as few as 25,000 were issued. At the time of cataloging, this example is tied with one other for the finest grade in the PMG Population Report of only four notes present in the census. A very rare date in an exemplary grade, with just the briefest trace of circulation or handling.
