China Asiatic Banking Corporation, Shanghai 10 Taels ND (ca. 1800) Pick S117Ar Remainder PMG Uncirculated 62.
A near complete set of remainders printed for the Asiatic Banking Corporation's Shanghai branch is offered in today's auction. This impressive 10 Taels is like the other denominations in that it is virtually unique or very rare. At the time of cataloging, this is the first and only example graded in the PMG Population Report. This Indian bank operated for at maximum four years, hence few issued banknotes are known for all branches across Asia. Proofs, Specimen, or remainders are known for some issues as well. This offering is not to be missed and part of an amazing set presented in today's auction.
