British North Borneo Nissan Estate 1 Dollar ND (1942) Pick UNL KNB2a PMG Extremely Fine 40.
A handsome, impressive type that is rarely seen in such a pleasant collector grade. The Nissan Rubber Estate in Tawau, Sabah, was one of the largest plantations in the British Colony, and it employed thousands of local workers. When Japanese forces defeated the British and took control of the colony, it tasked the Nissan Estate with printing emergency currency for use in the region until proper occupation currency was printed and issued. These notes resembled previous issues and as such were accepted. After approximately five months in circulation, these notes were withdrawn and few exist to be collected today. We have the privilege to offer a small collection today that represents all denominations for the type. Additionally, all are the plate notes for the dedicated catalog of notes from the region, as described on the PMG holder. Stains are mentioned for accuracy. Very rare and an interesting World War II issue.

這款賞心悅目的出色珍鈔極少見於上佳評分。沙巴斗湖的日產集團是當時英國殖民地上規模最大的橡膠種植園之一。當日軍擊敗英軍並佔領馬來亞後，委托日產集團為當地印製一批應急鈔票，直至正式使用的軍票投入流通為止。其外觀與先前的鈔票相似，但被民眾接納。在流通約五個月後，這批鈔票被收回，有幸流傳至今供入手收藏者可遇不可求。敝司是次榮幸經手一部包含所有面額的小集，當中所有鈔票均為當地鈔票目錄的圖例原件，並於PMG封套中所有標注。票面帶有黃點。實為趣味盎然的二戰珍鈔。
