Excessively Rare Gem Uncirculated 1935 Mule Star
Fr. 1607* $1 1935 Mule Silver Certificate. Gem Crisp Uncirculated.One of the great star note rarities, as the serial number range of these Mule stars suggests a very limited production, with few if any obtained by collectors at the time of their release into circulation. Most of the known examples are circulated notes, with this fresh and well centered example, one of the highlights of the Thomson collection, the only specimen we've had to offer in any of our sales in this grade. The Oakes catalogue values this in CU at $3000, and collectors who have spent years trying to obtain such a note will likely find that figure conservative.
