Fr. 2405* $100 1928 Gold Certificate Star PCGS Banknote Choice
VF 35 PPQ.A rare $100 Gold star, this attractive note exhibits paper originality, serial number embossing, and dark inks. Track & Price documents only 14 different serial numbers with only four graded higher, including one Uncirculated plus one piece of equal grade. Also, only the example in this lot and one more have earned a PPQ or EPQ grade modifier. That other note grades PCGS XF 40PPQ and realized $18,000 in 2019. Due to the small population of this star, look for the nice mid-grade example in this lot to close in on the $18,000 figure, if not to topple it.
