Description
One of the Very Finest Fr. 2400 $10 Golds Known
Fr. 2400 $10 1928 Gold Certificate. PCGS Superb Gem New
68PPQ.Bull's-eye centering within balanced margins is an important trait of this gorgeous $10 Gold. Additional traits are ideal color, natural paper wave, embossing of the right serial number, and face to back registration that is oh so close to being absolutely perfect. This is a great note in all respects and last appeared at auction in 2008. A look at the PMG Population Report tells us that they have graded only two equal and none higher. PCGS Banknote verification states that they have graded a single example equal and none higher. If you are wondering about the old PCGS, the Track & Price Census lists three PCGS 68 graded notes and none higher. That trio includes the piece in this lot making for a grand total of six equal and none higher. The most recent auction appearance by any of these well preserved notes is when a PMG 68 EPQ example crossed the auction block in March 2023 to the tune of $21,600. We look forward to the spirited bidding that will claim this beauty for one determined collector.
