Choice Uncirculated Chicago District 1934 $10,000
Fr. 2231-G $10,000 1934 Federal Reserve Note. PMG Choice
Uncirculated 63.A nicely margined note from a district that now boasts just twenty examples known in total according to census data. This serial number 1093 note has flown under the Track & Price census radar until now. This is the first Choice Uncirculated example we have been able to offer for this series and district in almost fifteen years. It is a fresh and bright note with great color and traces of original embossing. A bit better centering on the face, and it certainly would have qualified for a higher grade. Since no problem-free Choice Uncirculated 1934 Chicago $10,000s have been auctioned since 2006, any estimate is a bit difficult. For comparison purposes, a PMG About 55 example, with a stain, sold for $114,000 in our 2019 FUN auction.
