PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 1934 Dallas District $5000
Fr. 2221-K $5000 1934 Federal Reserve Note. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.A worthy mate to the Greensboro Collection's Boston district 1928 $5000 offered above. It comes from a small group of Dallas district five thousands that have served as the source of the vast majority of the highest grade examples of this type and denomination over the years, with this piece having been off the market since our consignor obtained it back in our 2005 FUN auction. The paper is fresh and bright, the colors outstanding, and the eye appeal is fully commensurate with the PMG Choice New 64 grade. The last third party graded 64 to sell at auction fetched over $110,000 in our October 2012 auction, and we expect a similar realization this evening.
