Unique Dallas 1928 $5,000 FRN

Fr. 2220-K $5,000 1928 Federal Reserve Note. PMG Very Fine 25.
This Dallas 1928 $5,000 with serial K00000031A was unique when we first offered it as a new discovery in January 2011. Fourteen years later, it has withstood the test of time and remains unique to this day. It is also one of only 20 1928 $5,000 notes listed in Track & Price. Dallas had by far the lowest 1928 printing for the $5,000 FRN denomination with a total of only 360 notes printed by the BEP. Chances for survival are minuscule at best with such a low printing and we are fortunate that our current offering has lasted all these years. It has a uniform appearance on both sides with the comment of restoration on the PMG back label. When this note entered our premises in 2011, it resided in a PCGS third party holder with a comment of edges frayed. We are pleased to announce that that peccadillo has been expertly taken care of. Unique notes are always hard to estimate, but with the current upward trend for this ultra-high denomination, our estimate may prove to be very conservative.
