Unc 58.The year 2022 has seen dramatic increases in winning bids for $500 and $1,000 notes. A closer look at PMG graded lightly circulated Series 1934 $1,000 notes reveals the following winning bids in our auctions during the months of May through July earlier this year. First, a Fr. 2211-L grading Extremely Fine 40 with pinholes fetched $5,040 in May, and a Fr. 2211-J mule grading Choice Extremely Fine 45 went for $4,804 in July. Our current Choice AU 58 Boston offering resides in a comment free PMG holder. The note in this lot is nicer than the two earlier examples discussed in this lot description, and we fully expect the $5,000 barrier will be broken.
