Description

Very Rare 1928 Philadelphia $1,000 FRN Star - Finest of Four Known

Fr. 2210-C* $1,000 1928 Federal Reserve Star Note. PMG Extremely Fine 40.
This well margined and very attractive example of this very rare Philadelphia $1,000 FRN star is the finest of just four replacement notes reported for this Friedberg number, all of which have been graded by PMG. This lightly circulated example displays bold ink colors and strong serial number embossing. Its only flaw is a small stain in the top right corner that is hardly noticeable. Crossing the auction block for the first time, this note should easily exceed the realization of a repaired PMG Very Fine 30 replacement note from this series and district that we offered in our last Long Beach auction which brought $20,400.
