Description

Scarce Philadelphia $1,000 Replacement Note

Fr. 2210-C* $1,000 1928 Federal Reserve Note. PMG Very Fine 30.
The number of known examples of this Philadelphia replacement note can be counted on one hand, including this attractive mid-grade example that we first offered in our 2007 FUN auction. This $1,000 star is interestingly from the 180's serial number run from which most of the known examples are found. It is a well margined piece with great color and just a very minor repair noted by PMG. It's also the only example of this very tough high denomination replacement note to cross the public auction block in the past fifteen years.
