Description

Great Dallas $50 FRBN Rarity

Fr. 1880-K $50 1929 Federal Reserve Bank Note. PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ.
A great rarity in this state of preservation, with this one of only two pieces to have received the Gem 66 designation by PMG, with none higher. Neither of the two pieces so honored have appeared at public sale, and, as no 65's have been graded either by PMG (and only 1 by PCGS), this offering marks the first appearance of any Dallas $50 Federal Reserve Bank Note in Gem grade in any public auction. We sold a PCGS graded Choice 64PPQ example back in 2011 for $5520, making any estimate here difficult, but certainly a low to mid-five figure realization seems assured for a note of this importance.
