Description
Richmond, VA- Barley & Brown 50¢ Jan. 1, 1862 Jones-Littlefield PR60-051 PMG Very Fine 20.The exact business of this partnership remains unknown although there is a bit of circumstantial evidence suggesting the firm may have been commission merchants. In any case, this note is as rare as the previous 25¢ note, with this being our first offering of the denomination. PMG mentions that there is a small repair (which appears to be a small reinforced body split just above the "&" in the company name.) Aside from that, this is a nice clean note that has survived the passage of time quite well.
