A four-subject steel printing plate that has been nicely preserved within a wax sheet covering. This must have been the printing plate used to print modern reprint uncut sheets of these denominations in the 1970s. See the "Numismatic Commentary" on page 530 of Volume 8 of Whitman Encyclopedia of Obsolete Paper Money by Q. David Bowers. Dimensions are approximately 9 by 14 inches for the printing plate. The $20s have a portrait of Henry Clay, the vignette on the $50 is of Liberty, and the $100 has Benjamin Franklin showing a child a bust of George Washington.
