Description
Houston, TX- Corporation of the City of Houston $1 ND (circa 1864) Medlar 91 Fair."Faith of the City Pledged" at top center above heraldic eagle with arrows in talons vignette. Flanked on each side by "1" in ornate box. Male portrait within intricate cartouche at far left. Varying border designs. The most obvious problem is the missing right portion of the note. Also, a series of holes and pinholes. This is the only Medlar 91 your cataloger has seen. This was part of a two-piece lot that we auctioned a dozen years ago for $488. Incredibly rare.
