An exciting new discovery which is perhaps unique as a signed and issued example. While Proofs of the $1 denomination are known from this institution, which was the only bank authorized to issue currency in Texas by virtue of its 1835 charter granted by Mexico, signed and issued examples with the blank reverse (as opposed to the blue printed reverse) are unreported. This piece, clearly signed and issued, has the hitherto unreported plain reverse. Difficult to estimate, but if rarity and desirability are any guide, expect this piece to easily reach or exceed...
