Beaumont, TX- Jefferson County $3 Feb. 10, 1863 Medlar 2 PMG Very Fine 20 Net.The $3 denomination follows the basic design of the other values from this emission with a green overall tint and THREE protector. This example crossed paths with a paper clip sometime during its journeys, and ended up with some rust damage as a result. This marks the first appearance for this denomination in any of our public auctions and it is likely that this former Robert Medlar Collection holding is unique or nearly so. Somehow the bit of rust damage is not quite the calamity imagined as rarity often trumps condition.
