This note, part of a series authorized in 1883 to redeem notes of the Bank of Tennessee that had closed in 1869, bears the portrait of Governor William B. Bates on the face and the state capitol building in Nashville on the back. Adhesive, translucent stain to the right of the portrait. Small left edge tear. Seen with wide bottom selvage.
