Description

Charleston, SC- State Bank $50 Jan. 8, 1859 G48c PMG Very Fine 20.
The $50 design for this bank features a shield depicting a cotton plant flanked by a Native American family and a teacher with her students. The State Bank was chartered in 1801 and liquidated soon after the conclusion of the Civil War. An overall orange tint, a fancy orange and white FIFTY protector, and decorative brown-orange back enhance the appeal of this example, free of any noteworthy problems.
