Philadelphia, PA- Mechanics Bank of the City & County of Philadelphia $20 18__ as G66 Proof PMG About Uncirculated 50 Net.
The Mechanics Bank was in operation from 1810 to 1864 when it became the Mechanics National Bank of Philadelphia. The $20 design features a large vignette of an eagle perched on a tree limb at center. An interesting vignette of a female cooper is at left- and a small vignette of a mechanic's arm is at bottom center. PMG mentions that the note is repaired (the upper right corner has been reattached).
