Description
Lancaster, PA- Farmers Bank of Lancaster $10 18__ G74 Proof PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ.The bank, originally an unchartered institution, was organized in 1810 and remained in business until it was succeeded by the Farmers National Bank of Lancaster which was chartered on December 1, 1864. The design features a vignette of farmers putting up hay flanked by a corner vignette of a farm wife blowing the lunch trumpet calling workers from the fields at left and a denominational end panel at right. The note is printed on India paper with six POCs in the signature lines and was one of twelve examples found in the 1990 ABNCo Archives sale.
