Ashville, NC- Bank of Cape Fear $4 July 1, 1859 G180 PMG Choice Fine 15.
The Bank of Cape Fear's Ashville branch was in operation from 1843 until around 1866 when its assets were transferred the Wilmington location. The $4 design features a farm girl seated by sheaves of grain and a framed train vignette. A group of ships is depicted at lower right. Two bicolor 4 counters and a faint red-orange FOUR protector complete the design.
