Description

New York, NY- Gurney's Photographic and Daguerrian Gallery 349 Jan. 20, 1857 PCGS Banknote Very Fine 25.
PCGS Banknote mentions that the note is stained and has a small edge split. Jeremiah P. Gurney is listed as listed as a daguerreotypist and photographist in New York city directories at the address shown on this note from 1857 through at least 1869. Gurney notably established the American Daguerre Association, the first national organization for photographers, in 1851. This advertising note is professionally produced with banknote quality vignettes. We have previously auctioned two examples of advertising notes produced for his previous address, but this is the first example of this design that we have been privileged to offer.

Estimate: $200 - up.
