Incredible $500 Trenton Proof
Trenton, NJ- Mechanics & Manufacturers Bank $500 UNL Wait UNL ProofThis is easily the most important New Jersey obsolete note we have ever had the privilege of offering, as this denomination is unlisted for this bank in both the Haxby and Wait references. There is some light staining on the reverse left and right sides, along with a thin spot or two, but this magnificent Proof is not only almost certainly unique but the only $500 Proof we've ever seen or heard of from this state. It would not surprise us at all if our estimate here turned out to be quite conservative. Uncirculated, 4 POC.
