Description

Morristown, NJ- Iron Bank $3 Mar. 29, (1860) G40a Wait 1205 PMG Very Fine 25, 4 HOCs.
The only example of this very rare $3 to have appeared in any of our auctions, it has a phenomenal vignette of the New York Crystal Palace which was built in 1853 and burned to the ground in October 1858. While the note has the usual hole cancels found on issues from this bank, none of them touch the marvelously detailed vignette.
