Princeton, MS- Lake Washington & Deer Creek Rail Road & Banking Company $100 18__ G12 Kraus 10494p Leggett 12 Proof PMG Choice Uncirculated 64.Similar to the $20 and $50 Proofs we are offering in this auction from this institution, the $100 piece in this lot is excessively rare and possibly unique in Proof form. At left on this beautiful Underwood, Bald, Spencer & Hufty creation is an ornate panel with 100s on either side of a large C denoting the denomination, at center is Hebe watering an eagle, and at right is another allegorical figure with an eagle perched by her feet. The bottom center displays a small illustration of two cherubs rowing a small sailboat. This piece is printed on India paper mounted to cardstock with signature cut outs. It can also be determined that this note is the same representative utilized as the plate note on page 1142 of James Haxby's United States Obsolete Bank Notes 1782-1866: Volume 2. This could be one of the only chances for collectors of Mississippi Obsoletes to acquire this design in Proof form, and this should be reflected as the hammer falls tonight.
