Aberdeen, MS- Mississippi Mutual Insurance Company $2 Apr. 3, 1862 Leggett 15 PCGS Banknote Very Fine 20.Officially opened on August 14, 1850, the Mississippi Mutual Insurance Company remained in business at least until 1863. Though its ultimate fate is unknown, the institution was not likely in business for much longer due to Civil War turmoil. A young woman holds grapes and a cornucopia at left, and a farm girl with a pail sits near a shield depicting a passenger train at center on this moderately circulated deuce. A red "TWO" overprint completes the design at lower center. Several light stains are observed on the note, but they are not overly distracting.
