Excessively Rare $100 Proof

Fall River, MA- Massasoit Bank $100 186_ G20a Proof PCGS Banknote Choice Unc 63.
The bank was chartered in April 1846 and remained in business until succeeded by the Massasoit National Bank during the course of December 1864 to early 1865. The $100 design features a pair of farm women at center flanked by vignettes of a Native American woman standing at lower left and a bald eagle at lower right. Two large green intricate C protectors complete the design. The note is printed on India paper mounted on cardstock with four POCs in the signature lines. Serving as the plate note in the Whitman catalog, this note is excessively rare and believed to be one of only two known at present.
