Blackstone, MA- Worcester County Bank $50 18__ G30a Proof PMG Choice Uncirculated 63.
The bank was organized in 1849-50 and remained in business until becoming the Worcester County National Bank of Blackstone in 1865. ABNCo designed, engraved, and printed this striking green and black $50 note that features an enormous green and white FIFTY / 50 counter that includes a protector panel over the signature lines. The frame and upper right denominational counter are also printed in green. A portrait of Henry Clay appears at right and a large round framed vignette titled The Calmady Children is at left. The note is printed on India paper with four POCs in the signature lines. There is a small tape-repaired edge tear below the left vignette. At present, the known population is around 3-4 examples in Proof form.
