Both Obsoletes in this lot contain lovely vignettes. The Somerset note features a livestock depiction at center, while the Lafayette note showcases a bustling illustration of Alger's Iron Foundry at center. This institution, founded by Cyrus Alger, was once one of the largest iron foundries in the country. PMG mentions evidence of a previous mounting on the Somerset piece. (Total: 2 notes)
