Description

Lexington, KY- B.B. Shelton (The Curd House) $1 Sept. 16, 1862 Hughes 385
An extremely rare piece of Lexington scrip, issued while the city was under Confederate control. This is listed as an R-7 in the new Hughes reference, and is the first example from this issuer that we have ever seen for sale. Fine-Very Fine, with just a tiny bit of ink erosion at the countersignature.
