Waukon , IA- Waukon Exchange Bank of Randall, Calkins & Co. $1 1861 Oakes 112- Remainder PMG Choice Very Fine 35.Only the second note we have auctioned from this rare issuer, both being aces. The other piece was formerly of the Eric P. Newman Collection. It was also a Remainder and graded PCGS Fine 15 Apparent. Its final price was $3,055 in April, 2015. The vignette at center is Finding the Red Ear, which we hear was a romantic game that enlivened corn husking. False signatures, date, and serial number have been erased from this example. Nonetheless, it remains both rare and attractive.
