Milledgeville, GA- State of Georgia $10,000 Treasury Certificate
Sep 21, 1864 PCGS Apparent Very Fine 30.These large denomination certificates were issued to reduce the amount of Georgia Treasury Notes in circulation. Only twenty-one of these 8% $10,000 certificates were issued, and to date only five survivors have been identified. PCGS mentioned a trace of mounting remnants at the top center of the back which also bears an 1864 annotation datelined Savannah requesting that the certificate be delivered to the order of Arthur Blake. Very Rare and seldom offered.
