Description

Fernandina, FL- Bank of Fernandina $5 Feb. 1, 1860 G2a Benice 4 PMG Very Fine 20.
The bank was authorized under the state's general incorporation laws rather than under the banking laws on January 15, 1859. It moved to Starke when Union forces captured Fernandina in March, 1862. Printed by ABNCo, the note features a large vignette of an ocean-going steamer entering a harbor and has two striking red and white denominational panels; one on each end. A pleasant, mid-grade note with no repairs or meaningful impairments.
