Error Variety - Unlisted in Both Criswell & Medlar

Houston, TX- Consolidated Fund of Texas $100 Sep. 1, 1837 Cr. UNL Medlar UNL PCGS Banknote Choice About Unc 58.
Our current offering is identical in nearly every way to the Cr. CF7C variety. The word "his" is present on lines two and seven, before "heirs" and "legal," and the paper upon which this piece is printed bears an "R" watermark. The printer of this representative, however, blundered one of the dates which appears on the face of the note. Near the bearer's name, the text states that an act was authorized for consolidating the public debt and that it was "passed on the 7th day of Jund, 1837." We have only auctioned one example of this "Jund" error previously. That piece, certified at the PCGS Banknote CU 63 level, brought $1,140 in October 2025. Expect that level to be approached again tonight. A cut cancellation is noted.
