Nashville, TN- Bank of Tennessee Branch at ? $2 July 4, 1861 Good.An interesting $2 with this penned message being pinned to it, "This is a genuine bill on genuine bank note plate and the signatures are genuine. Therefore, it is redeemable for taxes. (Signed) Jno. P. Hickman Expert." Both the pinned paper with the expert's opinion and the note were roulette cancelled twice with "Paid." This is not the John Thomas Hickman of National Bank Note fame and a member of the Society of Paper Money Collectors' Hall of Fame.
